Ode to the Mid-heel

“I love you. I’ve always loved you. Ever since I borrowed my Mother’s eighties snakeskin courts, which had a sensible 3 inch heel.” - a mid-heel fan
Once upon a time a Christian Louboutin stiletto was the most lusted after wedding shoe, it was considered the only acceptable way to accessorise the dress of your dreams. Style has moved on, attitudes have changed and wedding looks for the fashion-forward are essentially whatever the hell the bride wants, but when it comes to making decisions about footwear, why do things suddenly get sticky? Do you go for that once lusted after killer heel for a little sex factor? Will the shoes even be visible? Do they need to be comfortable (a word that instantly conjures up images of hideous white satin pumps, never to be worn EVER again).
Enter fashion’s mid-heel. Cool. Good looking. Walkable. Sexy. Erase all the unnecessary cruel kitten heel jokes from memory – a lower heel doesn’t need to mean a lack of beauty. The mid-heel is the pinnacle of good taste and they look great in shades of white.
Obviously, contemporary brands are really leading the way in this category. Considering dancing down the aisle – Rejina Pyo’s closed toe slingbacks will fit the bill. Looking for something more formal - Bottega’s modern take on the white court has a curved, yet sturdy heel that can dress up a tailored co-ord or silk gown. Then there’s everything By Far, a brand that seems to be completely built on the joys of the lower heel.
Married in a mid-heel – sounds pretty good.
Don’t trip, say yes to our Top 4.
